The UGent Campus in Ostend (Bluebridge – Ostend Science Park) houses the center for Lifelong Learning in the marine and maritime sector, better known as "Lifelong Learning (LLL) Ostend". LLL Ostend aims to coordinate and develop training and educational initiatives with a strong connection to our seas and oceans. Thus, LLL Ostend is the central UGent contact point for national and international companies, public authorities and other bodies with training needs in marine and maritime themes. LLL Ostend's offer includes not only existing training courses, the team is also eager to develop tailor-made training courses to meet specific needs from the field.

The Reef
Training Lab Blue Energy
Moreover, on the Ostend Campus, UGent co-hosts “The Reef” Training Lab Blue Energy since September 2023. This state-of-the-art immersive training lab uses innovative AR, VR and XR applications to prepare current and future workers in the blue economy for the challenges of today and tomorrow.
